All Your Must-Have Items Beach Items with what you should bring to the beach.
What to Pack for the Beach?
If you ask us, beaches are the best. The combination of cool water, warm sunshine, and a nice breeze are irresistible. Even the sand isn’t too bad unless you’re gonna be a Sith lord or something (we’re lookin’ at you, Anakin).
If you’ve been wondering, “What should I take to the beach?” we’ve got answers for you. Here are the top ten items (in no particular order) you should include in your beach packing list. Note: we’re leaving out the beach bag and plastic/waterproof bags since they hold everything else, but you should definitely pack them, too!
1. Sunscreen
This is one of the most important things to bring to the beach. Since sunscreen can expire, you should try to purchase a new one every year and store it in a cool, dry place. There are lots of great sunscreen options out there, but we prefer Neutrogena dry-touch UltraSheer sunscreen with an SPF of 70 or more. Neutrogena is a trusted brand and isn’t greasy on your skin. If you’re looking for an ocean-safe alternative, Burnout Ocean Tested sunscreen is a great choice that is water-resistant.
If you’ve got older sunscreen but don’t want to have to throw it out entirely, a good hack is to use Spot My UV to detect if and when your sunscreen is no longer effective. They sell these UV detection stickers at CVS, but they sell ones like them in stores across the country. Simply apply sunscreen over the sticker: it becomes clear when your sunscreen is working and turns purple when it’s no longer effective!
2. Water Bottle
Being around all that salt can get dehydrating. Bring a water bottle to ensure you’re getting the hydration you need. LifeStraw Go water bottles are a great choice if you’re planning to refill at a random spigot on the beach, and Yetis are a cool option if you want your water to stay cold and refreshing the entire time.
3. Swimsuit
Of course, you’re going to need a swimsuit! Target’s a good option for those who want to look good without dropping too much cash, but if you’re looking for something more high-end, try some of these swimsuit brands.
4. Keebos Crossbody Phone Case and Phone
No one wants to lug around a ton of stuff at the beach, which is why you should bring your Keebos crossbody phone case with you.
Not only does it keep your phone safe and accessible, but it also allows you to stay handsfree in style. Keep your phone close while you soak up the sun, and take as many pictures for Instagram as you like - you’ve got your charger! (Is it too on-the-nose if we think Beach Keebos are the best ones to bring?)
5. Towel
You can get as fancy (or not) as you want to get with this. Bring a nice beach towel, a regular bath towel from home, or one of these sweet microfiber beach towels that are super-absorbent and come with their own bag!
6. Phone Charger
You can bring a small, portable charger like this one or a bigger power bank. Don’t forget to bring your phone cord as well!
7. Keebos Sunglass Straps and Sunglasses
The sun doesn’t just damage skin, you know - it can also injure your eyes. It’s a good idea to take your sunglasses with you. Ray-Bans are the best high-end brand that offers UV protection. That said, there are plenty of inexpensive brands that offer it too. Whatever you choose, grab some Keebos Sunglass Straps to ensure they don’t get lost! They come in black, brown, and pink, so there’s something for everyone.
8. Swimsuit Cover
Swimsuit covers are great at helping you feel cute, breezy, and effortless before or after
you spend time splashing around in the ocean. If you don’t already have one, Amazon has a ton of options, including a white one and this very versatile design.
9. Lip Balm with Sunscreen
Don’t forget to bring lip balm with sunscreen. Yes, your lips can become UV damaged too, so protect your pucker! Brace yourself for this recommendation: we like Duke Cannon’s Offensively Large Lip Balm. Hear us out - it’s big, so you won’t have to dig around in your beach bag for it. It’s also got an SPF of 30. If you have a hard time finding a lip balm that feels good on your lips (some of us are super picky), this one doesn’t feel too greasy or have a weird flavor.
10. Beach Mat/Blanket
It can be tough to find a great beach blanket, so when we saw this one, we were in love. It’s got sand anchor pockets, is huge, and is made out of parachute material. It’s extremely compact, water-resistant, and sand-proof. It even comes in a great color-coordinated bag.
We hope you’ve enjoyed these tips on what to bring to the beach! Bringing all of the above items will help you enjoy a good time, and hopefully allow you to unwind and enjoy the experience.
